<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>This dataset contains Florida panther and Florida black bear vehicle collision hotspots by Florida Department of Transportation District. The analysis calculates the average number of vehicle collision mortalities per one-mile road segment and the distance from the mean to determine relative level of significance. It's based on an evaluation of available Florida panther and Florida black collision data specifically managed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). The date range used in the analysis was from 2005 through 2024 (FWC 2025). Using the ArcGIS (ESRI, Inc), Getis-Ord Gi Hotspot Analysis Tool, three tiers of relative significance (based on confidence levels) were identified: Top 1% (99%), Top 5% (95%), Top 10% (90%). Florida panther and black bear mortalities were weighted at 1.4 and 1.2 respectively to reflect their conservation priority and highway safety risk. This layer represents a more, long-term (20 years) evaluation of Florida panther and Florida black bear mortality patterns associated with roads.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV> |
